READ | Ogbene named PA Entertainments Man of the Match in MK Dons defeat

It wasn’t the result that any of us wanted at Saturday’s Sky Bet League One meeting with MK Dons, but it was another team who struggled to handle the talents of flying winger Chiedozie Ogbene – who has been voted as the PA Entertainments Man of the Match by supporters.

The Millers relinquished a one-goal lead, which they had established when Ogbene ran through on goal only to be felled by Dan Harvie, prompting referee Marc Edwards to point to the penalty spot and subsequently issue the defender with his marching orders – with Dan Barlaser converting from 12 yards.

As has been the case throughout the season, Ogbene continued to prove a thorn in the side of the Dons’ defence, drawing a number of fouls as the Millers looked to try and find a way to win the top-end clash.

Ultimately, it proved a rare disappointing day for Paul Warne’s Millers, who were unable to fend off the charges of a spirited 10-man Dons outfit with the visitors recording a 2-1 victory on Saturday.

Also nominated for the award were Michael Smith, Ben Wiles and Ollie Rathbone, but it was Ogbene who emerged as the winner, landing 38.6% of the 492 votes cast in total.

This poll is supported by our friends at PA Entertainments and Terrace Threads.

PA Entertainments have been long-term supporters of the football club and were hailed for their recent work which involved them lighting up the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the colours of the NHS and more recently, with the image of a poppy for Armistice Day.

Supporters may be aware that we recently welcomed Terrace Threads on-board, who took up the option of sponsoring our newly-produced ‘Goal Gifs’ for the duration of the 2021/22 campaign.

Following discussions between the two parties, they have collaborated to give supporters an added incentive to vote for our Twitter Man of the Match Poll, with fans who cast a vote and retweet our social media poll automatically entered into a prize draw to win a Beanie Hat from Terrace Threads.

The PA Entertainments Man of the Match and the lucky winner of the Beanie Hat will be revealed on a Monday morning following a Saturday fixture or midday on the day after a midweek fixture.

The next opportunity for supporters to pick their Man of the Match is on Wednesday, when the Millers visit Hartlepool United for their Papa John's Trophy Semi-final at the Suit Direct Stadium.
