Rotherham United midfielder Dan Barlaser has seen his wonderstrike against Accrington Stanley nominated for the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month award for February.
The midfielder – dubbed the Geordie Pirlo by the adoring Millers faithful – executed one of the most perfect dipping volleys you are likely to see when he opened the scoring against Stanley on 5th February, in a game which the Millers won 1-0.
Dan has seen his strike nominated alongside Elliott Bonds of Cheltenham Town and Oxford United’s Billy Bodin.

The technical perfection and impeccable timing of Barlaser’s volley was all the more remarkable given that he had to strike it on the stretch with the ball dropping in front of him.
Elliot Bonds – CHELTENHAM TOWN v Sunderland – 8th February
Bonds’ first Cheltenham goal was a mix of special ingredients. Striding forward, he stepped past two tacklers and unleashed an unstoppable shot just inside the angle of post and bar.
Billy Bodin – OXFORD UNITED v Bolton Wanderers – 12th February
Bodin fooled the entire Bolton defence into thinking that his free-kick was for his teammates to attack. Instead, he took aim for the top corner and judged the curl and arc to perfection.
