Paul Warne gave an honest assessment of a tough test at the hands of Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One, which ended in a goalless draw...

“From our performance tonight, it’s a good point earned. I thought we were the better side first-half. We should have took a couple of chances. I don’t think we were at our flamboyant best, first half, but we could have been two or three up.

“In fairness, in the second half, Shrewsbury were in the ascendency for the whole 45 minutes. We considered changing shape which we haven’t done all season. They put it on us and they deserved at least one goal in the second half.

“It’s a point earned. We will play a lot better. We knew it was going to be a tough game tonight. They were definitely up for it. We are top of the league, and teams are going to hunt us down.

“Credit to Shrewsbury, they gave us no time on the ball. We only had two bits of play in the second half. We didn’t create enough to win a football game.

“We had some leggy players in the camp. Everyone could see that. We kept another clean sheet. We go into Saturday and we know we will have to be a lot better.”
