READ | Lindsay agrees Millers contract extension

1 June 2022

Rotherham United are delighted to confirm that midfielder Jamie Lindsay has extended his stay at AESSEAL New York Stadium, after penning a new deal until June 2024.

Lindsay’s previous deal was due to expire in the summer, but following another impressive campaign in the middle of the park, he has been rewarded with an extended South Yorkshire stay, taking him into his fourth season with the club.

The Millers paid an undisclosed fee to secure his services from Scottish outfit Ross County in the summer of 2019 and he wasted no time in endearing himself to the Rotherham United faithful, becoming synonymous with energetic and industrious displays in the engineroom, which helped play a key role in the Millers securing promotion from Sky Bet League One that term.

The former Celtic youth player etched his name into the history books the next campaign, scoring a brace in a 3-0 victory over South Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield Wednesday, a result which saw the Millers record their first home league victory over the Owls since 1976.

The Scot featured 35 times across all competitions in a memorable 2021/22 campaign for Paul Warne’s men, helping them to a promotion and Papa Johns Trophy double.
