Rotherham United are delighted to confirm the signing of experienced defender Lee Peltier, who joins the Millers ahead of their 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship campaign on a one-year deal, subject to EFL and FA ratification.
Millers boss Paul Warne has swooped to add former Yeovil Town teammate Peltier to his defensive ranks ahead of this weekend’s season opener against Swansea City at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Peltier boasts masses of second tier experience having represented the likes of Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and more recently West Bromwich Albion at the level before spending last season at the Riverside Stadium with Middlesbrough.
He is well-known to the Millers manager, who was in the ranks alongside him at Huish Park when the now 35-year-old was setting out on his footballing journey.
The versatile operator played 26 times in the 2021/22 campaign for second tier outfit Boro, also featuring three times in the Emirates FA Cup – with two of those appearances coming against Manchester United and Chelsea.
Peltier’s vast experience provides Warne with another summer recruit who knows the level inside out and will no doubt have invaluable knowledge to pass on to his new teammates as they focus on another tilt at the Sky Bet Championship.
Lee will wear number 21 whilst with Rotherham United.
