Everyone at Rotherham United would like to congratulate our Stadium Naming Rights Partners AESSEAL on being recognised as one of the nation’s top apprentice employers in 2022.

Having applied earlier this year and been celebrated at a national ceremony last month headed up by the Department of Education, AESSEAL have been included in the annual rankings among England’s outstanding apprenticeship employers.

They celebrate the nation’s outstanding apprenticeship employers and helps future apprentices, parents, and careers advisors to identify apprenticeship opportunities within the country’s leading employers.

In a competitive cohort of over 500 applications, and against thousands of eligible organisations across the nation, AESSEAL plc was rated 32nd in the top 100 – a fantastic achievement for our partners and one that we are incredibly proud of.

Whilst they are placed 32nd in the top 100 of the nation’s employers, it is worth noting that if those businesses who offer level 7 opportunities are ignored, they would actually be placed in the Top 10 of the trading competitors. Equally, AESSEAL are the top manufacturing business in the entire ratings ahead of PepsiCo, Pendennis Shipyard and Jaguar Land Rover.

AESSEAL Managing Director Chris Rea said this last week on LinkedIn:

“Bringing on young people in the engineering business is its own reward."

“It’s nice though to get external recognition by the UK Department of Education, which has ranked AESSEAL among the nation’s top apprentice employers for 2022. When you consider the public/private sector reach of this survey, and the sizes and sectors of the other “good” apprentice employers, it’s very satisfying to be ranked 32nd out of some 500 considered.

"Normally I like to tell our apprentice leadership team “must do better”. This time I think we have really put our best foot forward in a period when the bounce back from the pandemic is still having an impact. It will be a tough act to follow in subsequent years but I would hazard a guess that this puts us near the top when it comes to engineering companies offering apprenticeships.”

Speaking after learning of AESSEAL’s outstanding recognition, Rotherham United’s Commercial Director Steve Coakley said:

“We speak regularly about how our portfolio of commercial partners here at Rotherham United are like ‘family’ to us and with that in mind, it is always brilliant to share in the achievements of those connected to the club.

“Chris and his team are so devoted to not only offering opportunities to youngsters, but also to people in the local area, and they play a key role in employment in the Rotherham area and beyond, which makes us extremely proud."

Steve Coakley, Rotherham United Commercial Director

“To finish in the top 100 of any national ranking is incredibly impressive, but for them to finish 32nd in the country is a superb achievement and one that and I am sure they are immensely honoured by.”
