On the back of an unforgettable UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are looking to inspire the next generation of female football stars, with the 2022/23 Rotherham United Women’s side set to meet and greet supporters ahead of Saturday’s fixture with Swansea City at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The town was gripped by Euro 2022-fever with the likes of Iceland, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands and most prominently, France flocking to Rotherham for one of the game’s biggest ever festivals of football.

Players from the women’s first team squad, as well as junior members will be situated at AESSEAL New York Stadium and the newly-installed ‘Ambitious, But Brilliant’ Pop-up museum from 1:30 on Saturday, as we look to build on the momentum created by the tournament.

If you’re arriving at the ground early, keep an eye out for a number of activities taking place prior to our curtain-raiser against Russell Martin’s side and why not have a look inside our exhibition, too?

Head of Community Jamie Noble expressed his pride at the success of the tournement in the town, as well as looking ahead to what he is hoping will be an exciting future.

“It was fantastic to welcome such a prestigious international tournament to Rotherham and we are determined to establish a long-lasting legacy, not just for women’s football locally but the whole town as a whole," he told www.themillers.co.uk

“It would be amiss of me to not mentioned the tireless work that has gone in to brining the tournament to life right here in our town over the last two years and I would like to thank each and every staff member who has helped make it happen.

“From the teams who worked tirelessly in working groups, delivering girl’s sessions in school and our community to the fan parks around Rotherham over the last month or so, you have played a huge part in making memories that will last a lifetime.

“I heard someone say that we couldn’t have done it without ‘The Dream Team.’ That is everyone at Rotherham United and I don’t think I’ve heard a truer statement.

“Our women’s team are working incredibly hard in their recruitment drive for the new season, so why not pop down to the stadium this afternoon and see how you can get involved?

“The tournament may well have finished in Rotherham, but this is very much only the beginning of what we have planned here.”
