Rotherham United are delighted to be bringing our AESSEAL New York Stadium home to life even further this season with the installation of an LED perimeter advertising board system which is now in-situe ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship opener against Swansea City.

With our home showcased on the international stage throughout the Women’s EURO 2022 competition and with many Millers supporters commenting on how good UEFA’s pitchside system looked, we are incredibly pleased to be revealing that plans had already been made prior to the tournament for us to have LED boards of our own throughout the 2022/23 campaign.

Our commercial team had brokered a deal with SPORTFIVE back in April which would see us have our own boards installed upon promotion to the Sky Bet Championship and with the club’s involvement in the EUROs now at an end and our AESSEAL New York Stadium returning to look a little more like home with every day that passes as we approach the weekend, our own system is now up and running.

The new LED boards have provided the club with a further revenue stream and allowed us to build on the existing income generated from our previously static pitchside boards, coupled with the two LEDs already in place above the Disabled Platforms on the Ben Bennett Family Stand.

The club has now received updated LED artwork which has been incorporated into a running order ahead of the display’s debut this weekend.

Speaking following the successful installation of the boards, Rotherham United Commercial Director Steve Coakley said:

“As a club, we take supporter feedback on-board all the time, and, as much as I personally try to keep myself off it at times, I do note what is said on social media.

“It was good news therefore, for us to see so many people clamouring for the club to have the LED perimeter boards used during the Women’s Euros in-situ for next season because before the tournament began, we had already set the wheels in motion on making that happen.

“We won’t be ‘keeping’ the ones used by UEFA, but instead, installing some of our own which we organised with SPORTFIVE back in April and will be in-situ for Saturday’s season opener against Swansea City, in turn, providing the club with an even more striking form of exposure for our commercial partners.

“Having seen them being tested today and in action during the EUROs, we feel like they bring the stadium to life at pitch level and we are sure that our supporters will agree that their installation will only benefit the club.”
