In with the new.

Rotherham United are delighted to unveil our third and final instalment of 2022/23 Puma Teamwear kit in the form of our Alternate strip ahead of our upcoming Sky Bet Championship campaign.

We’ve had ‘commemorative’ in the Primary strip, ‘retro’ in the Change and now complete the collection with ‘new’ and ‘modern’ for our Alternate kit.

This abstract design incorporates the Millers’ primary club colours and will provide Paul Warne’s men with a unique and eye-catching option on their travels when a clash with our red Primary and yellow Change strip arises with our opponents.

Unlike our Change strip effort, which is a nod to a design from yesteryear, this Puma Teamwear creation is a concept like no other before it. The jersey – whilst predominantly white in colour – features a unique red and black speckled design across the front and over the arms, with a plain white reverse ensuring that the names and numbers of the 22/23 squad are clearly visible for all to see.

When discussing these designs with Puma Teamwear in the design stage of this year’s kits, it was extremely important to us that the club crest, Puma Cat logo and our club sponsors were effortlessly worked into the strip and we believe that – like the Primary and Change strips released already – this is another on which everything appears seamless.

The jersey will proudly boast the name of our new commercial partners Asura Financial Technologies whose logo – as previously publicised – has been adapted to ensure its sleek appearance on this season’s kits.

An extravagant shirt design is made to feel much more uniform by the accompanying black shorts and white socks, which ensure that the kit remains distinctive but not too ‘loud’ on the pitch.

The latest commercial agreement between our flagship kit sponsors for the 2022/23 campaign means that the Millers will be able to wear red and white on the road in the event that it doesn’t invoke a kit clash, despite branding across the three strips differing.

This memorable Alternate kit is intended for use as just that – for use when our Primary and Change strips clash with or pose an issue for colourblind supporters when drawn alongside our opponents.

The club are expecting delivery of the 2022/23 Alternate strip in July.

Further details on when it will be released in the Red and White Shop and online will be confirmed on www.themillers.co.uk.
