Rotherham United boss Paul Warne addressed the media on Thursday morning to discuss the upcoming clash with Cheltenham Town at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

With the midweek meeting with Lincoln City falling foul to the South Yorkshire sub-zero temperatures, the Millers manager had a number of topics to cover when speaking with local journalists ahead of the game.

On the agenda was whether the postponement had affected the squad, the January transfer window, Cheltenham Town and an update on his team news prior to the weekend.

Warne on whether midweek postponement has affected the squad...

"We're devastated it wasn't on.

"We needed the game and could potentially have gone back to top of the league if we were fortunate enough to beat a good side.

"It isn't ideal, but you can't cry about it - there was nothing we could have done.

"We were disappointed it was off because we had a fully fit squad.

"It is a little bit frustrating because if we'd have got a good performance, we could have put Saturday behind us and then you go into the next game and you don't want to have fixture pile-ups because we haven't really had the snow season yet."

Warne on the January window and any further updates on Curtis Tilt's return to the club and potential departure...

"There isn't an update on that.

"I was pretty confident that something would have been definitive - whether a club was going to purchase him - I thought it would have been done by now.

"It hasn't and I will regard him as my player until I get told differently.

"I don't talk to you now thinking we're really close because I haven't been led to believe that.

"I have to treat him as my player and get him ready, as I do the rest of the squad, for Saturday.

"It hasn't materialised the way I anticipated possibly."

Warne on being linked with out-of-contract Irish forward Georgie Kelly...

"I know the Irish league has finished and he is a free transfer and that he has been linked to loads of clubs because every single club is looking for a striker.

"That is sort of it, really.

"I don't intend to sign a striker this window - and I don't think I have said in any interview that was the case, although I apologise if I have.

"Obviously, with other things going on, I might need to, but as it is at the moment, I've got my four strikers.

"I'm aware of him because I've been shown today an article suggesting that us and Bradford are the two club chasing him, but last week it was different clubs.

"I just think it bounces around the Twitter forums.

"It could change obviously, but at the moment, that isn't happening."

Warne on whether any offers have been made for any of his players...

"As I speak to you on Thursday morning, there are no offers for any of our players and no firm enquiries either really.

"I do hope to get through to February the 1st without too many dramas, although it feels as though the calendar is stuck!

"As you well know, my phone could ring in like three minutes and something could have happened.

"At this moment in time Freddie Ladapo is our player and I'll use him as I see fit."

Warne on Cheltenham Town...

"I really like Michael [Duff].

"When I met him - and I don't think I've ever played against him before and if I have I apologise because he'll possibly be hugely offended but my memory of my career is awful - I really liked him.

"Michael and Russell have done a really good job there. They got in the Play-offs, then got promoted and are now doing really well in League One.

"They've made six or seven signings this window to try and push up the table and they can. They're in a good position.

"What I don't think people possibly understand is how well they play with the system they play with five at the back which is difficult to break down.

"This is a really good Cheltenham side, full of confidence and new signings, so they'll come here wanting to play and wanting to win."

Warne on team news ahead of the weekend...

"We've got no dramas.

"I think I've got 22 players training today and no injuries at all.

"However, with the weather as it is, it looks as though we're training on the car park today!

"We're looking good for the weekend and then we've got the Papa John's so we can shuffle it up a bit for that."
