Rotherham United will pay tribute to recently passed League Cup finalist Lol Morgan and former player Glyn Jones with a minute’s applause ahead of Tuesday night’s hosting of Lincoln City at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
The Sky Bet League One meeting with the Imps provides us with our first opportunity to honour the lives of both Lol and Glyn, whilst we are sure many supporters will also use the tribute to remember our long-time club sponsor and friend Eric Twigg, who also passed away recently.
The match referee will assemble the two teams around the centre circle just before kick off on Tuesday night, with fans of both clubs encouraged to join us in a period of applause to celebrate the lives and achievements of Lol and Glyn with Rotherham United.
Paul Warne’s first team will also wear black armbands as a mark of respect to Lol and Glyn, whilst our colleagues from Lincoln City have also kindly offered to do the same as their show of support to our tribute.
Due to tomorrow night’s fixture being rearranged – and subsequently, the programme being used from the date of the original fixture - supporters wishing to read tributes to the aforementioned individuals will be able to do so in Saturday’s copy of our matchday programme for the game against Cheltenham Town.
