Rotherham United attacker Kieran Sadlier helped himself to a wonderstrike of a goal in the Papa John’s Trophy meeting with Crewe Alexandra and coupled it with an excellent performance, to land himself the PA Entertainments UK Man of the Match award.
The fleet-footed midfielder starred for the Millers with a series of clever passes and runs but it was his long-range beauty that really caught the eye in the midweek clash at the Mornflake Stadium.
Sadlier has been on-song for Paul Warne’s men when called upon in the 2021/22 Papa John’s Trophy competition adding to his hat-trick against Manchester City’s U21s with a goal last night.
Clearly enjoying his role in the three in the middle of the park – having been introduced there as a substitute in the recent league win over Bolton Wanderers – Sadlier expressed his creative talent and was a key figure in a number of the Millers’ most promising attacks.
He lands the PA Entertainments UK Man of the Match award by a landslide majority of 70.8% of the 990 votes cast, seeing off competition from Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Wes Harding and Hakeem Odoffin who were also nominated.
