Rotherham United boss Paul Warne praised his side for 'rolling up their sleeves' in difficult conditions at the Mornflake Stadium to help themselves to three points and top spot in Sky Bet League One in victory at Crewe Alexandra...
“Obviously, I’m pleased. I quite enjoy winning.
“I thought we over complicated the game a bit first half.
“The goal we got came from a ball in from REG, which I asked him at half time if I’d not asked him to cross it, would he have? And he said no.
“We had midfielders running out wide and trying to help the wingers and I just thought we over-complicated it a bit.
“It was a difficult game for both teams in the conditios. The win, wow and the pitch wasn’t amazing. It was a really ugly game really.
“I came in at half-time thinking one wouldn’t be enough.
“I thought our second half performance was better than our first and we limited them to very little.
“REG came off having damaged his hamstring and that doesn’t seem good because he was very sore.
“Overall, I’m really pleased. I’ve said to the lads there’s 20 games left and these three points mean as much as any other. If you can finish the season without having to go into the Play-offs it would be really good.”
