RUWFC | Women’s Team appoint new First Team Manager

Rotherham United Women FC are delighted to announce Peter Jarvis as the new First Team Manager for the club.

Following a thorough recruitment process and after a lot of interest for the First Team Manager role, RUWFC are delighted to announce Peter Jarvis has been appointed for the 2021/22 season and beyond.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Willis as the club's new Assistant Manager and Head of Coaching whilst retaining the services of Colin Cook as Head of Goalkeeping. Pete has also enlisted the support of Brandon McGlave as the clubs Physio.

Peter Jarvis has over 16 years of coaching experience, working throughout the player pathway in men’s and women’s football. With a strong understanding of the women’s game, Peter has been supporting the development of many players up to the Women’s National League (Tier 3).

Peter Jarvis Said:

“This is a huge opportunity for me and my team to challenge the girls to be successful on and off the pitch. My coaching philosophy has developed into a player-centered approach, which is primarily based upon coaching to the potential of individuals using a multi-disciplinary approach, while working within the framework of the Club”Pete 1.jpg

Pete has an excellent knowledge and understanding of delivering and evaluating coaching sessions, and preparing teams for games. As a qualified teacher and lecturer in Sports Coaching, his understanding and teaching of subjects including motivation, leadership and learning theory, has helped to vastly improve my coaching methods. He also brings strong qualifications for the role as a  Level 4 Coach, holding the Advanced Youth Award and UEFA A-Licence.

Previous experience in coaching/managing at Notts County and Nottingham Forest’s Academies, and Nottingham Forest Women’s first-team shows his knowledge and understanding of creating an elite football programme with teams.

Chairman Jamie Noble said:

“We are very excited to appoint Pete as our new first team manager. He brings a lot of coaching experience to the first team, and shares our values on where we want to go as a club. It’s exciting for the club to be taking on a passionate manager with experience and in-depth knowledge of the game.”
