Rotherham United will honour the life of our former player and League Cup finalist Roy Lambert by holding a minute’s applause prior to this Friday’s Sky Bet League One meeting with Wigan Athletic.

The Millers were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of another legend of the 1960/61 League Cup campaign with Roy joining Keith Bambridge and Lol Morgan on the pitches in the sky, having also both left us recently.

The two teams and the match officials will join in a period of applause prior to Friday night’s 7:45pm kick off to remember Roy and his achievements throughout a fine career in football.

Both sides will also wear black armbands as a mark of respect, whilst members of Roy’s family will be in attendance at the game as guests of the club.

We would like to thank you all in advance for helping us to honour the memory of another Millers great.
