“I thought we were the better side and created the most chances. We just needed a second goal to make it more comfortable.
“Obviously we didn’t get that and then we gave away a penalty and had our captain sent off and then everything changed.
“I was hugely embarrassed by the incident at the end. I can only apologise to Accrington Stanley on behalf of everyone at the club.
“Now I have to come out here and speak about that rather than my lads defending a lead with 10 men.
“From then, after the penalty we were hanging on for dear life, it is a good three points, an excellent team.”
