READ | Millers accepting selection box donations as part of Mission Christmas efforts

Rotherham United are once again getting behind Hallam FM’s Mission Christmas campaign this year, by providing a pop-up drop-off point with donations welcome ahead of our fixture with Bristol City at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday 10th December.

Alongside our Community Sports Trust, we are working hard to ensure we can collect as many selection boxes as possible as part of our Mission Christmas Campaign, run in collaboration with our friends at the Firehouse Group. With everyone feeling the impact of the cost of living crisis, this is another example of the football club ‘doing its bit’, which includes warm hubs, clothing collections and supporting people with meeting their basic needs over winter.

In order to maximise the time available for supporters to drop off their selection boxes – should they wish to do so – we will be accepting donations at the Red and White Shop right up to the hosting of the Robins.

The aim of Mission Christmas is to help make a difference to local children living in poverty, all selection boxes dropped off should be new and unwrapped.

Head of Community Jamie Noble is hoping to see as many donations as possible, to help make a difference to those who desperately need it within the community.

“Over the years, we’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of people throughout our town and we know that we can count on that once again as we look to help those who need it most within our community."

Jamie Noble, Head of Community

“We, of course, appreciate that times are hard right now but any donation, no matter how big or small you deem it to be can make such a huge difference and we want to ensure that every child has something to open on Christmas Day.

“As we look to give everyone as much time as possible to drop off their packages, our club shop will be accepting collections and we will also be facilitating drop-offs when we host Bristol City."

Jamie Noble, Head of Community

“I would like to say a huge thank you to our friends at the Firehouse Group, who have once more offered their support to this initiative, as well as our fantastic team who will be working around the clock to support those who need us the most.”

As ever, Rotherham United would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone in advance for their donations.
