Rotherham United can confirm that young goalkeeper Josh Chapman has agreed to mutually terminate his contract with the club.

The 19-year-old played a largely unseen but incredibly important role in last season’s promotion through his involvement with the goalkeeping department in training, in which he worked closely with and pushed first team duo Josh Vickers and Viktor Johansson.

Chapman arrived in July 2021 from near-neighbours Sheffield United, from whose Academy he had graduated shortly before putting pen-to-paper with the Millers.

He didn’t make a senior appearance for Paul Warne’s side but was included among the substitutes on a couple of occasions, most notably for the Papa Johns Trophy final at Wembley last season.

Everyone at Rotherham United would like to thank Josh for his efforts whilst with us and wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career, whatever pathway he decides to pursue in life.
