Everyone at Rotherham United would like to say a huge thank you to our club partners Pinders, who are the latest local business to join in our efforts to support the Rotherham Hospice by donating their table at the sold out 2021/22 Season Dinner to staff at the Broom-based charity.

Pinders are a business partner for the current 2021/22 campaign and take care all of the club’s print and signage requirements, many of which our supporters and sponsors will have seen in and around AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Having noted the club’s recent fundraising efforts for the hospice – which have been championed by John Breckin -  they have very kindly opted to donate their table at our marquee end of season dinner to the Rotherham Hospice with Managing Director David Whiteway quick to express his desire to give their staff the unique opportunity to relax and unwind with us at this year’s event.

As a result of Pinders’ kindness, 10 members of staff from the hospice will join players, staff, Paul Warne and club Chairman Tony Stewart in the lounge at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Thursday and will be present as the awards are handed out to the winners on the night.

They will also be treated to a three-course meal alongside the rest of our guests on the night, with further entertainment provided by a magician and interactive quizzes which will run throughout the course of the evening.

Speaking following confirmation from Pinders that they would like to donate their table to staff at the hospice, Rotherham United’s Commercial Director Steve Coakley said:

“It has been nothing short of amazing of late to see the swell of support for the Rotherham Hospice, which really came to the fore thanks to John Breckin and his efforts the for ‘red glove day’ at the home game with Shrewsbury Town.

“I have said countless times how proud we are of the generosity of our supporters, sponsors and partners, who, without asking come to us expressing their desire to support the hospice."

Steve Coakley, Commercial Director

“On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to say a massive thank you to David and his devoted team at Pinders, who have donated their table and an opportunity for the staff who work so hard year-round at the hospice to come down and have an enjoyable evening at the 2021/22 Season Dinner.”

Pinders Managing Director David Whiteway responded by saying that any opportunity to help a cause so close to the hearts of so many people in the town was not to be passed up and he was delighted to be giving staff the chance to enjoy one of the club’s highest profile commercial events.

“I think everyone in the Rotherham area and beyond knows just what a fantastic cause the Rotherham Hospice is.

“They rely on £3 million worth of charity funding to continue to operate every year and whilst ours isn’t a cash donation, we hope it will give the people who work so hard up there every day a chance to come down to the club, enjoy themselves and unwind."

David Whiteway, Pinders Managing Director

“I think it is great that the Rotherham Hospice will have representation at the 2021/22 Season Dinner because it is good for the staff, players and supporters to put faces to the people who are there for our loved ones when we need them the most.

“I speak for everyone at Pinders when I say that I hope they have a fantastic evening and that it is our pleasure to be able to facilitate the donation of the table.”
