Rotherham United defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green capped a fine individual display at the weekend by being voted the PA Entertainments Man of the Match by supporters, following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Oxford United in Sky Bet League One.
After falling behind to an unfortunate Dan Barlaser own goal, the Millers rallied and deservedly went in level at the break thanks to a powerful header from the defender, who rose highest to convert Ben Wiles’ cross.
The Millers went searching for the winner, but had to remain vigilant of the counter attack, which REG helped to repel alongside fellow defenders Richard Wood and Michael Ihiekwe.
The Millers edged ahead when Dan Barlaser converted from the penalty spot, following a foul on Chiedozie Ogbene and hung on to keep their place in the automatic promotion spots, heading into the final week of the campaign.
Edmonds-Green claimed the award with 37.% of the 1,265 votes cast, with Ben Wiles, Ollie Rathbone and Chiedozie Ogbene also nominated.
This poll is supported by our friends at PA Entertainments and Terrace Threads.
PA Entertainments have been long-term supporters of the football club and were hailed for their recent work which involved them lighting up the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the colours of the NHS and more recently, with the image of a poppy for Armistice Day.
Supporters may be aware that we recently welcomed Terrace Threads on-board, who took up the option of sponsoring our newly-produced ‘Goal Gifs’ for the duration of the 2021/22 campaign.
Following discussions between the two parties, they have collaborated to give supporters an added incentive to vote for our Twitter Man of the Match Poll, with fans who cast a vote and retweet our social media poll automatically entered into a prize draw to win a Beanie Hat from Terrace Threads.
