“We were quite surprised how Oxford played, they are a great footballing side, but they were trying to turn us down the sides.
“The equalising goal was crucial. It changed our team talk at half time and we were able to go full positive with them.
“I just wanted them to be brave and do the right thing. I didn’t want them to be tense, we got the goal at a really good time and in the second half we were back to our best.
“The atmosphere today was really good and I’m thankful to the fans, they stuck with the team today and helped us to the result.
“Chieo was excellent today, at times he was unplayable and did really well for the penalty. We had plenty of chances to add to the goals, but it wasn’t to be.
“The lads showed really good character, they are an amazing group and to finish the way we did against a good Oxford side is testament to them.”
