Rotherham United recognised the outstanding lifelong contributions of club sponsors and friends Ben Bennett Jr and Eric Twigg with special awards presented to their families at our 2021/22 Season Dinner.
It goes without saying that the impact that both Mr Bennett and Eric were both able to have at Rotherham United - and ran parallel with their respective successes in business – was huge, but more importantly than that, they became friends of us all through that association.
Having mourned the losses of two brilliant and charismatic individuals during the current season, we felt it fitting to mark their contributions to our football club at our annual awards dinner.
Both Mr Bennett and Eric were huge family men, who passed on their love for Rotherham United down the generations. It was fitting therefore for us to invite their children – Mr Bennett’s daughter Jane and Eric’s son Matthew – to the 2021/22 Season Dinner to accept a Lifetime Recognition Award as a token of our sincere gratitude to their loved ones.
Their memories will live on forever here at Rotherham United and everyone here at the club will continue to carry with them the many happy occasions they shared in both Mr Bennett and Eric’s company.
Beyond that, we have no doubt whatsoever that their legacies will continue for generations to come as the Bennett and Twigg families remain friends to us all here at Rotherham United.
