Rotherham United Academy fell to their first defeat of the 2021/22 campaign, after being edged out by Grimsby Town U18s in a tight contest on home soil.
Nathan Exton had got his name on the scoresheet for the Millers with 15 minutes played, but it wasn’t enough to gain a share of the spoils, as the Marners leapfrogged the Millers to the top of the early EFL Youth Alliance League table.
The Academy are next in action this Saturday when they travel to St George’s Park to take on Burton Albion u18s.
