Fuel may well be in short supply at the moment, but there were no signs of Ollie Rathbone running out at AESSEAL New York Stadium last night.

The all-action midfielder again had his foot fully on the gas at the heart of the Rotherham United engine room and often averted the midfield traffic with another high octane display.

Ollie’s considerable quality off the ball was matched by his performance on it, often nipping the ball back in the middle and springing attacks, which ultimately helped the Millers to a 3-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon.

His performance saw him again picked by supporters as their Man of the Match, earning 35.4% of the 756 votes cast.

On a night where anyone could have been rightly singled out for praise, goalscorers Will Grigg and Michael Smith, as well as Rarmani Edmonds-Green were also nominated.

This poll is supported by our friends at PA Entertainments and Terrace Threads.

PA Entertainments have been long-term supporters of the football club and were hailed for their recent work which involved them lighting up the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the colours of the NHS and more recently, with the image of a poppy for Armistice Day.

Supporters may be aware that we recently welcomed Terrace Threads on-board, who took up the option of sponsoring our newly-produced ‘Goal Gifs’ for the duration of the 2021/22 campaign.

Following discussions between the two parties, they have collaborated to give supporters an added incentive to vote for our Twitter Man of the Match Poll, with fans who cast a vote and retweet our social media poll automatically entered into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher to spend with Terrace Threads.

The PA Entertainments Man of the Match and the lucky winner of the £50 Terrace Threads voucher will be revealed on a Monday morning following a Saturday fixture or midday on the day after a midweek fixture.

The next opportunity for supporters to pick their Man of the Match is on Tuesday night when the Millers to Johnny-Rocks Stadium to face Cheltenham Town in Sky Bet League One.
