READ | Ollie caps fine performance with goal and PA Entertainments Man of the Match award

A first goal in Millers colours, an inclusion in Sky Bet League One’s Team of the Week and a PA Entertainments Man of the Match performance to cap it off – it was another good weekend for all-action midfielder Ollie Rathbone.

As if the former Rochdale man’s popularity at AESSEAL New York Stadium needed heightening any further, he turned in another performance to endear himself to the Millers faithful in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra.

Paul Warne’s men were desperately unfortunate not to come away with all three points as a late Chris Porter penalty rescued a point for the Alex, who would have had few qualms had they come away with nothing, after a dominant Millers display.

The hosts – despite stamping their authority on the clash with Crewe – were unable to capitalise on the numerous chances they made, meaning it ended honours even in South Yorkshire.

Despite impressive showings across the pitch, Rathbone romped Saturday’s Man of the Match vote, earning himself 73.9% of the 341 votes cast. Providing the competition were Ben Wiles, Dan Barlaser and Chiedozie Ogbene.

This poll is supported by PA Entertainments who have been long-term supporters of the club and were hailed for their recent work which involved them lighting up the stadium in the colours of the NHS and more recently, with the image of a poppy for Armistice Day.

As part of the agreement, the club’s official Twitter account @OfficialRUFC will post an online poll after each Millers fixture allowing supporters to pick out their Man of the Match from the shortlist.

The PA Entertainments Man of the Match will be revealed on a Monday morning following a Saturday fixture or midday on the day after a midweek fixture.

The next opportunity for supporters to pick their Man of the Match is on Tuesday night when the Millers host AFC Wimbledon at AESSEAL New York Stadium in Sky Bet League One.
