Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are once again offering supporters the chance to get their first and second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at the Goal Zone located in our community wing at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, with a free ticket for Saturday’s game with Fleetwood Town to go with it.

Following the success of the initiative for our League opener against Plymouth Argyle, The Millers’ community wing have once again enlisted the help of the same local NHS group who were recently on hand to administer the vaccine to members of our first team players and staff, with Andrea Kitchen and her team set to base themselves in the club’s GoalZone ahead of the game against The Cod Army on Saturday 11th September.

They will be offering both first and second doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines, with everyone who chooses to visit us for theirs receiving a free ticket for the match.

Supporters will not need to book, simply turn up to our GoalZone with some form of identification on the day to receive the vaccine and a free matchday ticket.

Andrea and her team will be based in the GoalZone from 11am on the morning of the fixture and will be administering the vaccines right up until kick off.

Rotherham United Head of Community Jamie Noble said:

“Even though life has started to go back to ‘normal’ we still need to make every effort to ensure that we remain vigilant and that the AESSEAL New York Stadium is a safe place for everyone to watch their football.

“We were overwhelmed with the response to the initiative for our opening day game with Plymouth Argyle and it was fantastic to see such a good turnout.

“Of course, we would never want to put pressure on any of our supporters to make a personal choice, but at the same time, if a ticket for our home game makes in convenient for someone to come down and get the jab, then great.

“We are very grateful to Andrea and here team for once again giving up their time for our supporters this weekend and, of course, their selflessness and tireless work throughout the pandemic.

“We will be opening our doors to anyone who wants the jab, so please do come and see us if you want your first and second dose.”
