Rotherham United are eagerly anticipating tonight’s group stage draw for the 2022 Women’s European Championships.
We are incredibly excited to be playing a part in this historic tournament, with the Millers hosting four games at AESSEAL New York Stadium when the competition comes to England in the summer next year.
Excitement is building for the tournament, which see England’s Lionesses joining 15 other nations, playing 31 matches at venues across the country, including four at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
To celebrate the draw taking place, we will be joined by local grassroots sides and members of the local organising committee at AESSEAL New York Stadium as we find out who will be visiting Rotherham during the summer football festival.
There will be guest speeches from Rotherham United Chief Executive Paul Douglas, Assistant Manager Richie Barker and long-serving Rotherham United Women's stalwart, Val Hoyle, with BBC Radio Sheffield and RB1 Radio also in attendance.
The draw for Euro 2022 will take place in Manchester on Thursday October 28, with the ceremony beginning at 5pm UK time and the draw itself expected from 5.20pm.
The tournament begins on 6th July at Old Trafford, with the AESSEAL New York Stadium hosting three group stage fixtures on 10th July, 14th July and 18th July, before hosting a quarter final clash on 23rd July.
UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 promises to be the biggest women’s football event in UEFA history, deserving of the strength, diversity and over-growing popularity of the game.
