Rotherham United boss Paul Warne has been nominated for the Manager of the Month award for Sky Bet League One, for the month of October.

The Millers were in fine form during the month, starting off with victory over Cheltenham Town and never looking back from that moment, with big wins against Portsmouth, MK Dons and Sunderland, in between being held by fellow promotion hopefuls Wycombe Wanderers.

Warne has been nominated alongside Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth, Ryan Lowe of Plymouth Argyle and Oxford United’s Karl Robinson.

The nominees are as follows:

Gareth Ainsworth (Wycombe Wanderers)

Four wins and two draws in an unbeaten month for Ainsworth’s side as he charted his side’s serene progress. The confidence his players have in his methods was borne out by injury-time winners against Morecambe and Crewe.

Ryan Lowe (Plymouth Argyle)

Lowe has underlined to his players the importance of turning Devon into a fortress this season. A perfect three wins from three at Home Park were part of a 14-point haul from six unbeaten matches which took Argyle to the summit of League One.

Karl Robinson (Oxford United)

After a slow start, Oxford were forced to play catch-up to make the play-offs last season. Robinson has ensured they have hit their stride earlier this time around with four wins from five October games lifting them into the top six.

Paul Warne (Rotherham United)

Warne’s men made light work of a daunting-looking fixture list, collecting 13 points from five unbeaten games with a 14-2 goal differential. Portsmouth were beaten 4-1 and Sunderland 5-1 as their challenge gathered momentum.

ALL WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2021

The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
