Rotherham United midfielder Ollie Rathbone has enjoyed a fine start to life in South Yorkshire and helped himself to another PA Entertainments x Terrace Threads Man of the Match award at the weekend.
Rathbone – signed from Rochdale in the summer – has done himself no harm in endearing himself to the Millers faithful with his energetic displays in the middle of the park.
And this is what he provided in their Emirates FA Cup tie with Bromley, often pulling the strings in the engine room, which helped the Millers to a comfortable passage through to the next round, courtesy of a 3-0 victory at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
The midfielder showed great awareness to let Chiedozie Ogbene’s 43rd minute cross slip through his legs for Ben Wiles to lash home for the opening goal and was unlucky not to score himself with an effort in the second half.
Ollie is part of an impressive midfield trio assembled in recent weeks, with Wiles and Dan Barlaser continuing to impress at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
The former Manchester United man’s display saw him earn the supporters’ vote with a landslide 56.7% majority, with Will Grigg, skipper Richard Wood and Dan Barlaser also nominated for the crown.
