Rotherham United Women are on the lookout for new talent, with recruitment events set to take place next month ahead of the forthcoming 2021/22 season.

Do you have a passion for football, with a desire to get back playing after the lockdown? Well why not come down to Parkgate Astro facility and win a place in the first team for the new campaign?

Following a lengthy lay-off due to Covid-19 restrictions, Rotherham United Women will be targeting a title tilt in their return to East Midlands Women Regional League action and Captain Amy Pollock, who has been with the Millers for 17 years, says the team are looking for driven new recruits to join an already talented squad and help push the side onto new heights next term.

“As a strong, outgoing and ambitious club, we are always on the lookout for players who can help us build upon and strengthen the extremely talented squad that we have at our disposal,” Pollock told www.themillers.co.uk.

“Before last season was curtailed because of the Covid restrictions and subsequent lockdowns, we were second in the table and this year we really want to push on and challenge for the title.

“After having to endure so long without playing, I feel that we will all come back hungrier and more determined than ever before and we are looking for players who can come in and be apart of something special.”

Rotherham United Women Secretary Val Hoyle is heading into her 53rd season with the football club, having performed a variety of roles including player, coach and manager, as well as her current position.

Her journey with the Millers began back in 1969, when she founded Rotherham United Women’s Club (formerly known as Kilnhurst Ladies Football Club) and she is urging players to come forward and play apart in their latest campaign.

“I’ve been around women’s football since I was 11-years-old and have been involved with Rotherham United Women for over 50 years and it is amazing to see just how much the women’s game has grown since then," she explained.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is passionate about playing to join a great group of girls and hopefully help us push on to new heights this year. I would urge anyone who is thinking of coming down to do so.”

The trials will be taking place on the following days:

Saturday 5th June

Thursday 10th June

Saturday 12th June

If you would like to get involved, you can contact club secretary Val Hoyle on 078417 48830 or email admin@ruwfc.com.

All trials will be taking place the following address: Parkgate Astro, 23 Greasbrough Rd, Parkgate, Rotherham, S62 6HQ.
