Following conversations with his family, Rotherham United are proud to be commemorating the life of Millers supporter Andrew Wilson-Storey - one year on from his passing - with a memorial plaque which will have a permanent home here with us at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Andrew so sadly lost his battle in hospital on 29th February 2020, having bravely fought for his life for a week after being taken ill at our fixture with Accrington Stanley.

Tributes from both sets of supporters poured in following the tragic news of his death and we have been overwhelmed by the compassion and respect shown by our colleagues at Accrington Stanley, who have without doubt, displayed the true meaning of the phrase ‘football family’.

In paying their respects, Stanley included a plaque for Andrew in their memorial garden – a gesture that we are incredibly grateful to them for.

A year on, we wanted to reaffirm that Andrew’s life and love for our football club has not, and will not, be forgotten by installing a memorial plaque in his name at AESSEAL New York Stadium – a place he so often came to support us and enjoyed some happy memories.

The club have remained in contact with Andrew’s family over the course of the last 12 months and we will continue to be here to support them in any way that we can.

Once a Miller, Always a Miller.
