Rotherham United Community Sports Trust have supported Greasbrough primary school by hosting a sports day in order to raise funds for their school.
The Trust were able to support the school with their fundraising efforts through the Premier League Primary Stars Sports day Programme.
In preparation for the sports day, Rotherham United defender Joe Mattock spoke to the pupils via zoom in order to offer tips on how to stay motivated and be the best version of themselves. He answered lots of questions prepared by the pupils about football, fitness, training and achieving their goals.
The pupils had collected sponsorship prior to the day in order to take part in an obstacle course challenge delivered by RUCST coaches Ben Bagshaw and Jordan Mayor. All the money raised is set to go towards building an outdoor classroom, which will allow the pupils to continue to access top quality learning in a safe environment.
A Greasbrough Primary teacher said:
“The children thoroughly loved talking to Joe Mattock and asking questions. Jordan and Ben were stars helping us out today with the obstacle course too. Thank you for your support. It has been nice to have support back in school from the community.”
