Rotherham United have confirmed the first of two home pre-season dates at AESSEAL New York Stadium which will see them welcome Newcastle United on Tuesday 27th July.
The Millers will host the Premier League Magpies for a 7pm kick off in South Yorkshire in what will be the latter stages of Paul Warne’s preparations ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
The club are still awaiting further clarification from the Government as to whether supporters will be permitted to attend this fixture as we continue to navigate the coronavirus pandemic ‘road map’.
Steve Bruce’s side managed a 12th-placed finish in the top flight last season and last visited Rotherham in October 2016 in the Sky Bet Championship.
Yesterday, the Millers confirmed another pre-season friendly with Sky Bet League Two outfit Rochdale and will step up their preparations for the 2021/22 campaign by taking on Premier League opposition at AESSEAL New York Stadium a week later.
This friendly is the latest of several planned announcements as the club continue to firm-up our pre-season plans.
The dates confirmed so far are as follows:
Tuesday 20th July 2021 | Rochdale (A)
Tuesday 27th July 2021 | Newcastle United (H)
