Richie Barker post-Harrogate Town friendly...
“I think the most important thing is good minutes into senior players and no major injuries.
“A couple of the lads who played last night weren’t quite ready to go back-to-back but in terms of getting minutes in the process of getting towards 90 minutes, it has been a fairly successful couple of days.
“We’ve progressively made the competition harder. Without being disrespectful we started at Parkgate and now we’re into League football and we go again at Grimsby on Saturday before going on to Middlesbrough and Newcastle.
“Their team progressively got stronger and I think they ended up with more first team lads on the pitch when they started so it was brilliant for the Academy lads and the younger pros.
“It is always useful if you can get a chance to have a look at somebody and we get people put to us all the time. We did get a chance to look at someone tonight, but who knows, sometimes things come of it. Bobby turned up at 6:15pm today and we only made the decision for him to play at lunchtime to play and it isn’t an easy thing to do.”
