READ | Rotherham Remembers tribute to take place at home game with Stoke City

Rotherham United will once again pay tribute to players, staff and supporters of the club who we have lost in the last calendar year, when we host Stoke City at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Tuesday 19th January 2021.

Every year that this tribute has been held, the club have been overwhelmed with the response and after a particularly tough 2020 for us all, we are expecting to hold another incredibly poignant tribute prior to our game against Stoke.

We are aware that with the game being played behind closed doors, the circumstances are far from normal, and we would of course, love you to be in attendance with us as we pay our respects to Millers gone before us.

Whilst that isn't possible, we feel it is incredibly important to ensure that we do not miss the opportunity to honour this tradition and would encourage everyone joining us on iFollow from home, to tune in early and applaud the names of former players, staff and supporters with us.

The club have been in touch with our contacts at iFollow, who will ensure that the camera focuses on the big screen as the tribute is being played out.

In addition to the tribute being played out at AESSEAL New York Stadium, we will also be making the video 'Rotherham Remembers' reel available to fans through our social media channels, meaning everyone will be given the chance to pay their own respects to Millers fans who are so sadly no longer with us.

'Rotherham Remembers' is normally observed with supporters in attendance to join us in paying our respects, but we are keen to ensure that this poignant tribute is still honoured during the pandemic

We are asking supporters to once again join us in paying our respects to the lives of the Millers who are no longer with us, by sending in names to be remembered ahead of kick-off against the Potters.

Fans wishing to have their loved ones’ names displayed on the big screen prior to the game with Stoke City should send the name they would like displayed to remembers@rotherhamunited.net with the subject titled ‘Rotherham Remembers 2020.’

Last year, we introduced an automatic email response system which will acknowledge receipt of the name you have sent in. Please be aware that if you do not receive this acknowledgement email, it is highly likely that we have NOT received your email.

Please send in the names spelled as you would like them to appear.

The names will also be printed in the official matchday programme and the deadline for all submitted names will be Wednesday 13th January, 5pm.

Unfortunately, any names we receive after this time will not be included due to production deadlines for the programme and big screen content.

To ensure that we do not miss any emails, names MUST be sent in by email in the following format:

Toremembers@rotherhamunited.net

Subject: Rotherham Remembers 2020
