Following last night’s update from the Government which has resulted in another national lockdown, Rotherham United boss Paul Warne expressed his desire to record a video message in an attempt to reach out to our supporters.

Millers fans will be aware that Warney has done a lot of video messages over the last 12 months, helping to mark birthdays, weddings and other special occasions, as well as sending messages of support to families who have lost loved ones, or people ill in hospital.

This message from the Gaffer is one which reiterates the importance of kindness during these difficult times, but also, a reminder that there is support out there should anyone be struggling.

There are so many fantastic charities and organisations in and around Rotherham, so if you are having a hard time, do not suffer in silence.

"I just wanted to reach out - I know it has been a bad day for the news and we've got a full lockdown again.

"Just look out for everyone again. Look out for your neighbours and get the social spirit going again - knock on people's doors and see if you can help out in any way.

"Hopefully our performances on the football pitch can make you smile.

"If you get bored or lonely, please tweet or Insta-hit or something, one of our players and wish them all the best, all the support we can get is great. It is going to be a tough run-in for us but we'll give everything we can.

"I know we're having this lockdown and it will be difficult for a lot of people, but don't forget, there are charities out there like Mind, who do really good work.

"It is a difficult message for me to send in bad times but just be kind and help people out."
