Rotherham United are incredibly pleased to confirm that Ben Wiles has been voted as our PA Entertainments Man of the Match following his impressive display during Saturday’s fixture with Swansea City at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Wiles played a key role for the Millers in the middle of the park, driving the team forward with his energetic running through the middle, whilst also tracking back to offer defensive cover for his teammates.
The 21-year-old is capable of operating in a number of positions, but has found himself back in his favoured role at the centre of the park in recent matches, with this leading to a string of consistently strong displays.
His performance was watched by fans both domestically and overseas, with the game shown live on iFollow Millers and he was crowned Man of the Match with 31.3% of the votes, edging out goalscorer Freddie Ladapo, who finished on 28.3%.
This poll is supported by PA Entertainments who have been long-term supporters of the club and were hailed for their recent work which involved them lighting up the stadium in the colours of the NHS and more recently, with the image of a poppy for Armistice Day.
As part of the agreement, the club’s official Twitter account @OfficialRUFC will post an online poll after each Millers fixture allowing supporters to pick out their Man of the Match from the shortlist.
The PA Entertainments Man of the Match will be revealed on a Monday morning following a Saturday fixture or midday on the day after a midweek fixture.
The next opportunity for supporters to pick their Man of the Match will be today, when the Millers host Derby County at AESSEAL New York Stadium tomorrow evening.
