Rotherham United midfielder Dan Barlaser says that he and his teammates are looking to continue their strong run of form, ahead of two testing away assignments in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Millers travel to Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night to take on AFC Bournemouth and following their trip to the South Coast, they head to table-topping Norwich City on Saturday.

Paul Warne’s side have won four of their seven league outings in 2021 and Barlaser believes the team are in a good place in terms of performances and results, something which he is hopeful can continue.

“If you look at the way it has been going, with the wins we’ve had, we’re in good form and hopefully we can keep it going,” Barlaser told www.themillers.co.uk.

“I don’t think many teams will want to play us at the minute and with any luck we can carry that on and keep getting results.

“It’s amazing looking at the table at the minute, a lot of the teams towards the bottom end are in good form and if we win our games in hand, we’d be halfway up the league, which just shows how tight and competitive the division is.

“We’ve got two massive games coming up and hopefully we can get some points out of them and push up the league.”

When the two sides met back in November, the Millers switched to a 3-5-2 system, which saw them playout an entertaining 2-2 draw with the promotion-chasing side.

Barlaser has found himself in a sitting role since the change in formation, protecting the back three, as well as keeping the team ticking over in the middle of the park, a role which he says he is enjoying.

“We drew at home and it was a really competitive game, they play passing football, but we’ll go there with a gameplan to hopefully give us the best chance of getting a result,” Barlaser added.

“We’re doing well and playing some good football, I’ve got a nice sitting role in front of the back three at the moment.

“Obviously, games are different and there are times when you can take risks on the ball and when you can’t, I’ve been enjoying it and we’ve been getting the results, with any luck that can continue.”
