Rotherham United will once again pay tribute to players, staff and supporters of the club who we have so sadly lost in the last calendar year, when we host Bolton Wanderers at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday 1st January 2022.
We are always overwhelmed with the response that this tribute receives from our supporters and consider it our privilege to play a part in remembering our beloved Millers, who gave so much of their lives to supporting or representing the club.
The last couple of years have been tough for us all and we believe it is important to recognise and celebrate the lives of those who have passed away.
In addition to the tribute being played out prior to the game at AESSEAL New York Stadium, we will also be making the video 'Rotherham Remembers' reel available to fans through our social media channels, meaning everyone will be given the chance to pay their own respects to Millers fans who are so sadly no longer with us.
Last year's tribute was observed by supporters from afar as the Millers played their games behind-closed-doors through the Coronavirus pandemic
We are asking supporters to once again join us in paying our respects to the lives of the Millers who are no longer with us, by sending in names to be remembered ahead of kick-off against Bolton.
Fans wishing to have their loved ones’ names displayed on the big screen prior to the game on New Year’s Day should send the name they would like displayed to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject titled ‘Rotherham Remembers 2021.’
Last year, we introduced an automatic email response system which will acknowledge receipt of the name you have sent in. Please be aware that if you do not receive this acknowledgement email, it is highly likely that we have NOT received your email.
Please send in the names spelled as you would like them to appear. Any names that are duplicated will only appear on the honours reel once.
The names will also be printed in the official matchday programme for this fixture, the deadline for which will be 5pm on Sunday 19th December 2021.
We understand that this is a shorter window than we would normally leave, but due to programme printers closing for the festive period, we are unable to accept names after this time.
We will be able to accept names for the tribute which appears on the big screen on New Year’s Day up until 5pm on Monday 27th December 2021.
Unfortunately, any names we receive after this time will not be included due to production deadlines for the programme and big screen content.
To ensure that we do not miss any emails, names MUST be sent in by email in the following format:
Subject: Rotherham Remembers 2021
