He could have had a hat-trick. Not bad when that is about the only criticism you can level at Dan Barlaser for his performance against Gillingham in Sky Bet League One, which has earned him the PA Entertainments Man of the Match award.
The ‘Geordie Pirlo’ registered his name on the scoresheet twice and would have taken home the matchball had his thunderous second effort from the spot not cannoned back off the crossbar.
A display which once again showcased the midfielder’s superb range of passing coupled with spades of work lands Barlaser the Man of the Match award, in another fine display for all of Paul Warne’s side.
The Millers showed their battling qualities to come from behind after an early setback saw the Gills take the lead, but once they were level, they never looked back with goals from Ladapo, Miller, Barlaser (2) and Ogbene more than comfortably ensuring the hosts made it 19 games without defeat in all competitions.
Ollie Rathbone, Chiedozie Ogbene and Ben Wiles made up the other runners and riders in the four nominated for the PA Entertainments Man of the Match poll, but it was the Geordie who landed the prize with 68.4% of the 789 votes that were cast.

Background
This poll is supported by our friends at PA Entertainments and Terrace Threads.
PA Entertainments have been long-term supporters of the football club and were hailed for their recent work which involved them lighting up the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the colours of the NHS and more recently, with the image of a poppy for Armistice Day.
Supporters may be aware that we recently welcomed Terrace Threads on-board, who took up the option of sponsoring our newly-produced ‘Goal Gifs’ for the duration of the 2021/22 campaign.
Following discussions between the two parties, they have collaborated to give supporters an added incentive to vote for our Twitter Man of the Match Poll, with fans who cast a vote and retweet our social media poll automatically entered into a prize draw to win a Beanie Hat from Terrace Threads.
The PA Entertainments Man of the Match and the lucky winner of the Beanie Hat will be revealed on a Monday morning following a Saturday fixture or midday on the day after a midweek fixture.
The next opportunity for supporters to pick their Man of the Match is on Saturday afternoon when the Millers host Burton Albion in Sky Bet League One.
