Even with us slowly returning back to ‘normal’, Covid-19 is still disrupting where it can, as the 2021 Football to Amsterdam event fell victim to the pandemic for a second successive year.
The event sees riders from across the country pull on their cycling gear, whip their bikes out the garage and cycle all the way to Amsterdam in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
One group have decided that they will not let the virus win this time, opting to hold a fundraising event at The Gardeners Rest pub, on Neepsend Lane in Sheffield, an avid supporter of PCUK for over six years, on Saturday 4th September.
Rotherham United and Sheffield United have donated prizes for the fundraiser, with an Elvis Costello autograph, Planet X London Road Bike being auctioned on eBay for the event as well.
You can bid on both items at the following links:

As well as this, sweepstakes will be taking place in relation to the 12 World Cup Qualifiers being played that day.
Football to Amsterdam is a challenge like no other, with cyclists departing from either Sheffield or London all the way to the Dutch capital, to raise some much-needed funds for Prostate Cancer UK, with riders getting the chance to represent their football club and ride alongside legends from the sport.
Prostate Cancer UK’s top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. Millions is being invested to find better treatments and better tests than can spot fast-growing cancers early, and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.
