"I thought our performance was really good. I was proud of the performance of the lads. They were well-organised. Wigan found it difficult. There were some amazing performances, today, but unfortunately I come out after a one-nil defeat, and it feels a lot different. You have got to score when you are on top, but unfortunately we didn’t.
The free-kick was needless. We should do better than that. That was my only disappointment. The goal came from a percentage ball. They won the free-kick. There were too many free-kicks and corners, in the last five minutes, and we didn’t clear it aswell as we should have.
I thought we were excellent. Chieo was unplayable. Mickel was good down the other side. Our centre-halves dealt with everything. I thought JJ for his first league start was pretty exceptional. Him and Smudge caused them all sorts of problems. The only thing lacking today was a goal for us.
The fans were good with the team but unfortunately they now leave disappointed, as we conceded in the 95th minute. Everyone can be proud of what we tried to do, but unfortunately you are judged by results.
We were excellent from the first whistle to the last but by conceding that late goal, it mars a really good performance."
