READ | Wing named PA Entertainments Man of the Match for Birmingham game

If there’s anyone who deserves to open his Rotherham United account, it is Lewis Wing.

The midfielder – who is on loan from Middlesbrough – has been a standout out performer in the heart of the midfield in recent weeks and put in another assured display against Birmingham City on Sunday.

After seeing efforts against Huddersfield Town and Coventry City cannon back off the woodwork in recent weeks, the 25-year-old saw his goal bound effort charged down by Harlee Dean against Blues yesterday and is desperately unlucky to not have at least a couple of goals to his in Rotherham colours.

Wing continued to pull the strings in midfield, with some clever passes and touches creating opportunities for the Millers to attack.

His performance was recognised by supporters, winning him 66.8% of the 635 votes cast, sealing the PA Entertainments Man of the Match crown ahead of fellow nominees Richard Wood, Angus MacDonald and Michael Smith.

This poll is supported by PA Entertainments who have been long-term supporters of the club and were hailed for their recent work which involved them lighting up the stadium in the colours of the NHS and more recently, with the image of a poppy for Armistice Day.

As part of the agreement, the club’s official Twitter account @OfficialRUFC will post an online poll after each Millers fixture allowing supporters to pick out their Man of the Match from the shortlist.

The PA Entertainments Man of the Match will be revealed on a Monday morning following a Saturday fixture or midday on the day after a midweek fixture.

The next opportunity for supporters to pick their Man of the Match will be on Wednesday, when the Millers face Middlesbrough at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
