Rotherham United can confirm that our appeal against Matt Crooks’ red card picked up in the midweek defeat to Middlesbrough has been unsuccessful.
The club submitted evidence ahead of a 1pm deadline on Friday but following a meeting between an independent Regulatory Commission during which the case was examined, it has been decided that referee Darren Bond’s decision on Wednesday night has been upheld.
The Millers attacker was sent off for Serious Foul Play during the Sky Bet Championship match on Wednesday (21st April 2021) against Middlesbrough.
Crooks will now serve a three-match suspension which will start with him sitting out of today’s South Yorkshire derby against Barnsley at Oakwell.
