Rotherham United can confirm that Academy graduate Jake Cooper will return to Gateshead on a youth loan until January 2021, subject to clearance from the FA, EFL and National League.
The young defender initially joined the National League North outfit back in December 2019 and impressed the north-east side enough to extend his deal until the end of their campaign, which unfortunately ended with defeat in the Play-Off semi-finals.
Cooper signed fresh terms with the Millers in March 2020, keeping him at AESSEAL New York Stadium until June 2022.
The 19-year-old will be hoping to cement his place at the heart of Mike Williamson’s sides defence ahead of their season opener against Bradford (Park Avenue) on 5th October.
