REPORT | Port Vale 1 v 2 Academy (Youth Alliance Cup)

23 October 2020

Rotherham United Academy continued their 100% start to the 2020/21 season with victory over Port Vale last Friday evening.

The Millers, who booked their place in the final of last season’s competition a fortnight ago; made a winning start to this year's Youth Alliance Cup campaign thanks to goals from Jerome Greaves and Nathan Watson.

Greaves is the latest Academy star to have signed professional terms with the Millers, having put-pen-to-paper at the start of October and he continued his hot streak in front of goal by finding the net after 18 minutes.

The points were secured on the hour mark courtesy of a strike from midfielder Watson, to seal a fourth successive victory in all competitions for the young guns.

The Academy will be looking to extend their faultless start to the season when they make the short trip to face Lincoln City tomorrow.
