Rotherham United can confirm that first team manager Paul Warne has entered a period of self-isolation following a positive COVID-19 test for a family member.

As a result, the Millers boss will remain away from the club’s Roundwood training base and AESSEAL New York Stadium until the necessary amount of time has passed to allow him a safe return.

This means that Paul will be absent from the dugout for the club’s upcoming games against Norwich City and Nottingham Forest, but will remain in close contact with the first team staff whilst also being provided with a video link of these fixtures.

Provisions have been made at the Millers training headquarters to allow the manager to oversee live video links of each session, as well as having the facility to be able to be involved with team meetings with players via video call.

At present, the family member in question is not showing symptoms of the virus and is in great health, while the Millers boss is not currently showing any symptoms of the virus. Furthermore, Paul has had two subsequent tests following the family member contracting the virus and has tested negative on both occasions.

Everyone at the club would like to send their best wishes to the Warne family.
