Rotherham United are proud to confirm that Paul Warne’s starting XI will walk out of the tunnel to ‘The Mighty Quinn’ by Manfred Mann as a tribute to the late, great Johnny Quinn ahead of this weekend’s game against Huddersfield Town.

Following the sad news of our former captain’s passing there has been a swell of support from fans for the current team to replicate a practice which was commonplace when Johnny was leading the team out himself during his time at Millmoor.

It has been agreed throughout the club that walking out to ‘The Mighty Quinn’ at this Saturday’s home fixture with Huddersfield Town is a fantastic way to publicly pay our respects to one of Rotherham United’s finest ever players and we are honoured to be facilitating having ‘his song’ ringing out in Rotherham prior to kick off in his memory.

Whilst we are incredibly sorry that supporters can’t be in the ground with us to observe this tribute, we hope that those watching at home on iFollow Millers will be able to join us as we remember The Mighty Quinn ahead of the game against the Terriers.

We would like to make fans aware that due to current Government guidelines our walk-out music is being played at a reduced volume, however, we are hopeful that the iFollow cameras should pick up sufficient audio for you to reminisce about Johnny’s life and career ahead of kick off.

There will not be a minute’s silence or applause in Johnny’s memory at this weekend’s game, however, there will be a tribute beautifully written by Les Payne in Saturday’s matchday programme.

We have lost a number of former players and supporters since the last time fans were permitted to attend fixtures and it is our intention to remember them once fans are back with us at AESSEAL New York Stadium to physically observe a tribute.
