Rotherham United Academy were dealt their first Youth Alliance Cup defeat of the season, as they went down 3-0 on home soil against Rochdale.
Goals from Jerome Greaves and Nathan Watson had got the Millers off to a flying start in the 2020/21 instalment of the competition, but it was the away side who were the more clinical, as they continued their own 100% start.
The Millers will look to claim victory in the 2019/20 version of the competition, when they host AFC Wimbledon at AESSEAL New York Stadium later this week.
