Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are proud to be supporting Level Playing Fields for another year, an organisation dedicated to promoting a positive, inclusive experience for disabled sports fans.

We welcome local organisations SocialEyes, Sense and Rotherham Deaf Connections to today’s matchday. If you make your way to our ‘Fan Zone’ before today’s game, we will be running a number of activities designed to spread awareness of the work that our local organisations do to support members of the Rotherham community. Make your way there and show your support by trying your hand at our sensory impaired penalty shootout, whilst listening to live music from our community members.

The groups will be assisting us in today’s matchday programme with Sense and SocialEyes as our community flagbearers. Please show your support to the groups at half time as they make their lap of honour around the pitch following SocialEyes recent success, winning the Ability Counts League One title.

“We are proud of the achievements of our community partners, the work they are achieving and the talent that is on show throughout the borough. We will continue to develop the opportunities for sport and physical activity for all members of our community and strive to make inclusive provision a reality for everyone” – Steve Coddington, Community Inclusion Co-ordinator.

Level playing fields is an organisation that understands the impact that sport can have on everyone. Whether that be through participating in Sport or engaging in live sporting events. They believe that having the opportunity to watch live sport should be an opportunity for all and has a deep positive impact on wellbeing. Here at Rotherham United Community Sports Trust, we aim to provide inclusive participation for all. Anyone wishing to get more active and take part can do so through our various Premier League Kicks community sessions located around Rotherham weekly or through our Ability Counts adult and junior football teams. If you wish to find out more about any of our programmes then please contact the Inclusion team on 01709 827767 or alternatively, please email scoddington@rotherhamunited.net
